LWVO (Statewide Policies)

The League of Women  Voters takes action on an issue only when we have a position addressing that particular issue. Members must study and come to consensus on an issue in order to form a position. This thorough grassroots process ensures that our advocacy is well considered by a broad range of people.

Impact on Issues 2022-2024
In the League, we tend to focus our efforts ininfluencing legislative measures in the US Congress and state nad local legislative bodies by preparing testimony, lobbying legislators and initiating advocacy campaigns onissue of interest to our members. We also file lawsuits, file "friend of the court" (amicus) briefs in court cases, and monitor and comment when regulations are vbeing written fir executive branch agencies.
